Project Location
Split between Prestwick, Toulouse, Filton
Project Activities and Key Roles
Understanding and application of engineering principles associated with aircraft components, sub-systems and systems, and the integration of those into an overall aircraft design.
Establish vehicle system requirements from national regulations and/or customer requests.
Investigation of In service related issues and develop solutions in a cost effective and time efficient manner.
Work with all relevant parts of the business, project, suppliers, regulatory authorities and customers to achieve the required deliverables
Compile test schedules and participate in vehicle system tests. Prepare accurate technical reports and other documentation.
Support task management activities with estimates, planning and monitoring of tasks.
Required Skills and Abilites
Clear verbal and written communication skills are required to interface with the rest of the organisation, suppliers, regulatory authorities and the customer;
Organisational skills are required to manage personal workload and contribute to management of tasks. This will include estimating, planning and monitoring of tasks;
Ability to relate appropriately to others and operate effectively in a team environment.
Essential Attributes
Engineering (Preferably Mechanical / Aeronautical);
Highly Numerate;
Excellent Analytical Skills.
Desirable Attributes
Appreciation of Aircraft Design;
Appreciation of Aircraft Systems Architecture Presentation Skills;
Fluid Mechanics knowledge;
Experience in using Microsoft Office Applications including management of databases;
Prior customer service experience.
Additional Information
Student will work with BAE Aircraft Systems Support and will be based between Prestwick, Bristol and Toulouse.
Working Hours: 8 am to 5 pm (Mon - Thur) 8 am to 1 pm (Fri)
The duties undertaken may be delivered under a Regional Aircraft business partnership. The individual may therefore be required to work with the partner business at their premises. This would provide the individual with a broad experience of working with more than one company but on the same project providing an insight into different working practices and cultures.
