Project Activities and Key Roles

IRCC Derivative Operations is comprised of the trade support group (TSG), documentation drafting, trade processing and documentation retrieval. Our primary clients are the trading desks we support which include the North American FID Interest Rate Swaps, Options, Credit, Structured, ABS and Emerging Market derivative trading. We act as liaisons with Sales, other trading desks, brokers, clearing institutions, dealers, controllers and other Operations groups such as the collateral, settlements teams and the derivative product group. Our focus is to ensure timely and accurate trade capture, trade enrichment, confirmation, and trade completion. We partner with the Derivative Project team and IT, or IDEAS, to deliver both strategic and tactical solutions for better risk management and control. IRCC Derivative Ops is divided by two primary products lines; Interest Rate and Credit Derivatives. Both teams are the first point of contact for both internal and external parties back to and for their respective Business Units.

Every morning TSG reviews any trades outstanding from the previous evening (i.e. match with sales, check/chase broker confirms). Once overnight trades have been processed, TSG reviews breaks from various control processes and risk reporting. Once rectified, team members share responsibilities throughout the day, including: resolve email and phone queries, reconcile trade blotters, review broker confirmations, confirm sales and internal trade details, process broker and sales trades, and complete various daily procedures.
