Project Activities and Key Roles

Project 1 - Cost Reduction
Work with suppliers to identify Product cost reduction ideas;
Prioritise ideas;
Define a plan in terms of scope, resource and timing to implement selected ideas;
Ensure projects are managed to plan;
Involves working with internal and external stakeholders.

Project 2 - Reverse Engineering
Review what processes are used throughout GTS for reverse engineering;
Review what types of components are currently reverse engineered;
Define a standard process for reverse engineering components across GTS;
Implement the process across GTS;
Involves working with internal stakeholders.

Required Skills and Abilites

Flexibility and adaptability as projects are assigned;
Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in carrying out tasks;
Ability to relate appropriately to others and operate effectively in a team environment.

Essential Attributes

Discipline/Area of Study: Mechanical Engineering (primary). Engineering aptitude, flexible with desire to multi-task, problem-solving aptitude.

Desirable Attributes

Experience w/MSOffice suite;
Exposure to gas turbine engines or energy business a plus;
Cost reduction or reverse engineering experience a plus.

Additional Information

Depending on the timing of the arrival of the intern, the projects will be assigned according to the order of importance to the business at that time.
