Project Activities and Key Roles

The intern will rotate every 2 weeks between 4 different departments (HR, Corporate Communications, Finance and Business Development).

Required Skills and Abilites

Ability to relate appropriately to others and operate effectively in a team environment.

Essential Attributes

Discipline/Area of Study: Business Administration/Business Related Degree.
Ability to work in a Multi-cultural environment;
People oriented, dynamic, adaptable and challenging;
Excellent communication skills;
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and trustworthiness;
Ability to synthesise complex or diverse information;
Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly;
Proficient in Computer Applications including word processing, spreadsheet applications and power point presentations.

Desirable Attributes

Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Published preferable.

Additional Information

Human Resources
Knowledge of Human Resources activities including the recruitment, mobilization of multi national workforce for overseas projects/contracts administered from Houston.
Tasks:
• Help in the development of any HR Projects.
• Assist with the logistics and cross-cultural training for new Trainees to improve the acclimation to new surroundings.
• Understand the differences between international HR issues and domestic e.g. benefits, pay, visas etc.

Corporate Communications
Knowledge of the Corporate Communications activities at a group level, work with the portal and updating information related. Understanding of the planning of a major event if available.
Tasks:
• Support the team in planning a trade show if available. Assist with the coordination of multiple companies being represented at the event.
• Learn to write in html and publish items on the website and portal.
• Assist with the press check for the company’s quarterly publication
• Learn to write articles for the company's quarterly annual publication, Wood News, the external website and other publications.

Finance
Company accounting and reporting of financial information.
Tasks:
• Assist to complete quarterly balance sheet reviews
• Gain an understanding of the financial consolidation system FRANGO
• Learn the process and assist with developing annual budgets and reforecasts.
• Training in the invoicing process
• Understand intercompany balances and help resolve them during month end close
• Learn the process of month end close

Project Other Duties

Finance
Company accounting and reporting of financial information.
Tasks:
• Assist to complete quarterly balance sheet reviews
• Gain an understanding of the financial consolidation system FRANGO
• Learn the process and assist with developing annual budgets and reforecasts.
• Training in the invoicing process
• Understand intercompany balances and help resolve them during month end close
• Learn the process of month end close

Business Development
Knowledge of Business Development Process relating to Production Facilities Business in the US.
Tasks:
• Produce a strategy summary report for potential growth opportunities in the oil and gas market in other countries.
• Participate in the bidding process for new contracts if available.
