Record breaking numbers of applicants reach interview stage!

It has been a very busy week for The Saltire Foundation. Monday and Tuesday of last week saw the interviews being held for the future intake of 2012 Saltire Scholars.

This year the interview sessions were hosted in the Enterprise Buildings in Dundee, a central hub for all the candidates we had coming from across Scotland and only a 2 minute walk from the train station.

We had a record breaking number of candidates this year with 180 students being interviewed on Monday and Tuesday by the team. A further 10 students, currently studying abroad for a semester as part of their university course were interviewed on Thursday via Skype in our Glasgow office. All the applicants we interviewed were exceptional and once again demonstrated to us the tremendous potential business talent that Scotland has as a small nation.

We would like to extend a big thank you to all of our wonderful interviewers - 2011 Scholars, Fellows and friends of Saltire - who came to Dundee to help conduct the interviews with us. We could not have done it without you and it was lovely seeing you all again!

Interviewees did not have to wait long to get the outcome of their interview as candidates were informed on Friday as to whether they had successfully made it through to the next stage of the application process.
