Saltire Scholar named Rising Star at Cayman Islands Tourism Association's Stingray Awards

Sarah-Jane Whitehill was named a 'Rising Star' for her work at theReef Resort at the Cayman Islands Tourism Association's Stingray Awards.  Whitehill completed her Saltire internship in 2008 at theReef Resort.

She writes, "Personally, I was extremely honoured to be nominated for one of these prestigious awards, let alone be nominated for one of the special awards "Rising Star 2010". The Gala evening was hosted at the Marriott Beach Resort on Tuesday November 9th 2010. TheReef had 5 employees nominated in various categories (http://blog.thereef.com/) and we were thrilled to have 2 staff win their awards categories - Linera Grant won accommodations Employee of the year and I won the Rising Star 2010. It is a great privilege to be honoured by my peers in the industry and I was truly surprised to win the award as I was up against some stiff competition. This award is proof that the skills, experience and confidence gained through my Saltire Foundation internship has taken me to the next level of my career."
