Coming home...

I have been promising a shorter post for some time, I'll give it a go this evening!

Two weeks tomorrow, I step on an aeroplane to head back to Scotland.  Having been away from home for nearly seven months now I think it's only natural that I'm looking forward to getting home to my wife and to my own house.  After not really planning anything for ages it is great to start getting things to do at home into the calendar.  We have some shows booked for the Edinburgh Fringe festival, a party for my wife's birthday, various people coming to stay, a diving trip.  I'm also excited to come back and pick up with my contacts in the entrepreneuial community in Scotland, and to get involved with the company for my next externship.

Things are by no means over here in California.  We have a diving trip planned this weekend, and wine tasting next weekend.  My original project here at Sun changed direction so for the last 3 weeks I have been working on a new project, which I now only have 2 weeks left to deliver.  I really hope I can make enough progress in that time to make a real impact...  We still have a few events to attend, including a visit to a conference in San Francisco to meet up with the folks from the company I am doing my next Externship with and a trip to the googleplex!

In amongst all this, we have just received the schedule and preparation work for the two weeks we will spend on the Stirling University campus in August, with faculty from Babson.  Plenty of case studies to read and analyse over the next three weeks.

Working hard and playing hard - it's great fun and I'm loving every moment, but I'm going to be exhausted by the end of the year!
