My grandparents loved full fat milk and would go on about how good it was for me. I did love the first two inches..full of delicious creamy milk. In those days, milk was delivered to your door in bottles....How quaint? Progress has deemed this unviable, although in some small geographies within the UK, one can still hear the electric milkfloat and the '***' of bottles in the early hours.
New research and new living styles have suggested that semi-skimmed is better for us, whilst full fat clogs the arteries and has therefore become less fashionable. Although it still sells well on supermarket shelves.
Before joining the Fellowship programme, I was a full fat personality. Rigid and very much a lone wolf with specific ways of doing things in my personal life and in business. My milk was delivered in bottles..so to speak.
However, and it is work in progress, my milk now comes in full fat and semi skimmed. The appreciation of rich networks, being in the moment with people when one's head was normally focused elsewhere, spotting ahead for problems and difficulties, and not beoming deindividuated in vision and operational planning have all been a move towards a semi skimmed approach. Of course, I still enjoy my full fat moments, afterall they have had some benefit in shaping who I am.
Simply knowing and feeling how to use both strategies is, without a doubt, benefitting how I approach the final stages of this programme, potential employment opportunities and how I market what I have to offer......
