Bored beyond belief...

How many of us have sat at work staring out the window, wondering what to do next..?  Come on be honest - I'm sure we've all had moments such as these.

No I was actually meaning Board's - the kind which govern and drive the direction of high-growth companies.  Which is the space where I now find myself in.  Utterly fantastic - getting to work and influence future direction, right back in the space where my passions lie. Setting strategy, unleashing the power of awesome ideas, connecting with customers and getting the best from great people.

Well  now 1-week into this next 3-month assignment and no I am certainly not BBB.  Don't have time to be - not with doing work on something truly massive, getting out and meeting people, holding down a family and trying to secure my next "source of cash" - the existing one is rapidly running out.  Nothing like a bit of pressure to make that little bit more entrepreneurial - think I might just get a Christmas job in Marks & Spencer (what a great way to get out and meet customers).

The pressure's on.  We're in the spotlight in a few weeks time, so talk about hitting the ground running.  1-week on and we've set the outline of what we're aiming to do, put in place a daily schedule of activities and got the initial market data.  Now it's about telling the story, setting out the case and running the numbers.  Phew - not bad for the first 5-days...And that's just the plan for the first month.  Next month we're aiming to get up and running.

So that's what strategy in action is about.  Just enough strategy to get things up and running fast....Welcome to the high-growth world - AWSOME....

Either that or we'll get a van and some Christmas tree's and go selling door to door.
