Sun Tzu
I'm not sure if anyone reads these blogs.  But I'll continue to write something I feel is relevant.
"Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat."
I saw this quote during the week on a wall within the reception area of an entrepreneurial Scottish company. I then met with the company director and during the discourse, it dawned on me - this guy's got it. Certainly entrepreneurial, but more than this.  It was a Malcolm Gladwell moment for me as I 'Blinked' him and knew I looking at a successful individual.  As others met this guy and 'blinked' him, they would also assess that he was the real deal.
As we chatted, two things went through my head.
1. Professor Dhebar's continuous guidance to us that everything we do sends out a message.  We want that message to be:

STRONG
EXCITING
DISTINCT
CONSISTENT
CLEAR
CREDIBLE and

AUTHENTIC

2. Professor Ayas' direct quote from Nicholas Hayek of Swatch/Omega:
"Everything we do and the way we do it, sends a message"
This guy was sending a message to me in the way he behaved, the language he used and the experience he possessed.
Putting two and two together with Sun Tzu's quote behind him on the wall, I realised that he could talk strategy, but always planned his tactics.
Covered the bases in business and was not afraid to display why he was succesful on his wall... as well as on his sleeve....

Jim,

Hope you have recovered.  A lot more people than you think read the blogs, many of them could be important for your future.  I direct most of the people I meet towards them to get a feel for what the programmes are really about.

So, follow the advice you have set out above and use the blogs to send out your message remembering why those people are looking!

best

Sandy

I loved this blog Jim.  The Hayek quote stuck in my mind too and Prof Dhebar taught me that lesson as well in his own inimitable way!

Keep them coming.
