Hi,
After last week's GlobalScot conference I've been struggling to sleep. Every night since I've tossed and turned, been up and down and finally I have realised why: I'm buzzing with energy, full of ideas and ready to live the words of Sir Tom Hunter by just doing it. It what has undoubtedly been a long year in many regards (no pay, 7 months away from home, intense learning etc...), reaching the finish line seems oh so close.
The conference last week was fantastic for re-invigorating my energy, due to the powerful body of support for the Foundation and its noble goal. People could not have been more positive and it certainly was the "talk of the steamie". Hopefully some of these high net-worth individuals can turn their vocal support into something more tangible, to ensure the longevity of this wonderful concept.
Anyway, as we move out of recession, I could use some personal quantitative easing. As we have learned this year, leaders perform best when backed into a corner and for that reason I can't wait to get busy during 2010. More to come on the opportunities I'm pursuing, however, I intend to work so hard at succeeding that sleeping won't be an issue - I'll be bloody knackered!
Si
