Dealing in acquisitions involves one in all the emotions that we humans experience I think. There are frustrating days, excitement, new friendships and intensity.
Whether it is meeting a new company for the first time and feeling excited at the markets it operates within or going away to research its value, there is a buzz of adrenalin - almost a high as one gets involved. If things go ok, one may get a second 'date'.
If not, one gets dumped or has to do the dumping..... But through it all at a number of levels, physical and meta-physical - human nature, behaviour and a desire to do something tangible and meaningful, always surfaces. It bubbles away...
Like a marraige, if both parties are committed - it can get past first base. It is this joint venture of purpose and being straight that fosters trust in a context that engenders nervousness.
So, in any business deal, meeting, transaction or negotiation, being as up front as possible allows your opposite number to relax a bit and do business, while not having to look over his/her shoulder.
Who knows where it can lead.....
Jim, it sounds like you're having fun - hope to catch up with you soon.
