As our time on Babson college campus draw to a close, the recent announcement regarding our placement opportunities for externship A signals the next step on this fantastic programme. For many of us, our endless curiosity was finally appeased over lunch last Friday when we learnt of the placement opportunities available this year and mostly importantly, were we would individually be working. This year all ten fellows will be working in groups of twos and threes with four multinational companies in the U.S; Liberty Mutual, Veolia, IBM and ShawCor. As we picked up our project files and took the time to explore our individual projects, a unanimous thought went through all our minds ... ‘Challenge!’. It’s clear to us all that we would need every single skill amassed over the last seven weeks to add value and inspire change in our appointed companies. It is evident that serious consideration has been paid to our personal interests - and challenges - in the process of matching each fellow to their appointed projects. Working in the US also gives us the opportunity to learn some more from one of the world’s most influential economies and better appreciate – and incorporate - their entrepreneurial spirit and positive attitude to risks. For now, all I can say is: bring on January!
