Buzzin' in Hong Kong!!!

"Buzzin" really is the correct word to explain Hong Kong. It just keeps going! I might not be able to sleep one night and i'll take a little dander and shops would be open, starbucks is open ridiculously late! I love it! This is my second week here and its nearly over already. Definately busy which I'm really enjoying. Spent the whole day on a big job for one of the partners who was in Shanghai waiting on my information to be able to make a presentation - so it was hit or miss whether I got it right . . . happy to say, it went very smoothly. So im onto a case that i've been working on for a few days tomorrow and trying to get further with my database project. Ive had a lot of meetings about it and the UK office wants to have a telecom interview with me, I feel very important. I'm making progress on it but at the minute its a lot of organisation before I can create a proper system for the office to use. Hopefully it will be up and running by the time I leave.

Most lunch times I'll hang out with the other trainees and interns. Although i've been to Hong Kong before, I'm getting a more thorough introduction to the chinese food. I basically tell them to order for me what they think I would like, and so far its been 100% delicious. So fingers crossed for tomorrow's lunch. It's mostly local places we are going to which I really enjoy as I feel a bit bad coming the whole way to Hong Kong and not eating the local food, although we did have pizza in the office the other day.

I have to inform everyone about last Friday night. On a Friday night, the office chills for a while together to take some time out, then some go back to work or home but we had arranged to go out, for them to show myself and another intern the hotspots of Hong Kong. We went to a brilliant bar called Sevva with views over all of Hong Kong, it was unbelievable. We had more pizza and I got to talk to the employees outside the office so it was a more relaxed setting. Its definately made the office environment more chilled as I feel like part of the firm, and I have more faith in myself that I can do the work - sometimes its a little nerve-racking with all these qualified lawyers running around. Then I realise that some day I will be qualifed and showing other interns around. Its great to be working in this firm, I feel very comfortable and i'm enjoying myself immensely!

So until i've got more news, its time to go and get my washing!

Bye!
