Another week has gone by in Boston and we all feel the time is going far too fast – it is scary! Having a full weekend of exploring Boston even more, I feel like I have been living here for years yet discovering new places everyday. We went to the Museum of Science on Sunday and had an amazing time on a Boston Duck Tour! The vehicles date back to WWII, and after a tour of the city on road, the vehicle then goes in to the water down the river. It was a lovely evening for it and the perfect way to end the weekend! Another speedy working week, I feel I have settled into my role quickly. Everyone in my department is more than happy to help and will go out of their way to help if they can. I have had several small meetings set up with different areas within the Product Management team, this has given me a good insight further into insurance and the roles that are available within ‘Product Management’ – my perspective has definitely changed! Working within compliance is something I did not think I would enjoy but I really am! On Wednesday, it was my 21st! We had a lunch meeting with Helen Sayles, head of HR here at Liberty Mutual and a trustee of Scottish Enterprise. Our lunch was very inspiring and Helen put us at ease as she shared all her stories with us, it was interesting to hear her comparisons of the USA and Scotland. After a day at work, some members of my team organised a night out for us all, they certainly showed us how they party in Boston - too many scorpion bowls and shots, however we all made it to work the next day! The days are just flying by, work and social aspects of Boston are just amazing, I cannot emphasise how much of a great time I am having whilst out here!
