Another week has flown by and what a week it has been! I attended a number of different classes through Liberty Mutual. Liberty are very keen for new hires and interns to learn about the different aspects of insurance that we may not learn from our daily work. This is great as we are constantly learning! More specifically in my work I am helping Amy, a girl in my team to identify claimants that have filed for more than one claim. Once these claimants are identified, I am using excel to assess the reinsurance limit and then checking if Liberty Mutual owes this particular company money or vise versa. It is a really interesting project and I had a good laugh reading some of the weird and wonderful claim descriptions!
I was lucky enough this week to attend my department's summer outing, after a morning of presentations we all went bowling which was really good fun.
This week we were privileged to have lunch with Mrs. Sayles. She is a very inspirational woman and it was interesting hearing her views on what she thought we could take back to Scotland from this experience. She was keen for us to adopt a "Can do" attitude and convince Scots that we can do it!
Nicole celebrated her 21st this week and we helped her celebrate by going to a few of Boston's bars! Hong Kong (the bar, not the place!) was an interesting experience and I'm sure we will be back there soon!
Pablo Nutini was graced by our presence on Friday night when we went to see his show in the house of blues. He put on a great show and we all had a great time. We also experienced the historic Quincy Market for lunch, although it has been appears to have been modernized it was lovely to sit in the beautiful building and enjoy our food. As it is the fellows last weekend in Boston, we had another barbeque to celebrate, then we all went to see the beach boys, they played a free outdoor concert in Boston which was great. Who knows what next week will hold for us, it will be strange with the fellows not around, they have really looked after us and I think we all wish they were here for longer!
Best wishes to all the fellows and many thanks for everything.
