So I am now nearing the end of my 7th week and I am finding it hard to believe I only have 10 days left here! It really has flown in... At the moment the 2 other guys in my team are away working in Canada so I have been left to my own devices and I'm still working on helping with the project my department is undertaking. 

One of the MDs at project investments popped by my office the other day to have a little chat with me and see how I have been finding everything here at Bilfinger Berger Project Investments.  We ended up getting on to the topic of graduate jobs and I was telling him how I am getting worried about how difficult it is going to be finding a job next year when I graduate.  He pointed out that the people who are going out and doing internships or any kind of work experience to do with their degree are already seperating themselves from the other students out there and so we are already at an advantage, even if it is something we worry about!  So that is good to know, and another thing he said was that at the moment I have plenty of contacts I can call when I graduate, himself included.  These saltire internships are such a great opportunity for us and I feel really lucky that I have been able to go out and meet people in the field that I am interested in working in, not only for contacts in the future but to be able to talk to them and gauge whether or not I am going down the right career path and if this is something I actually want to do with my degree.  There is so much scare mongering in the press at the moment about the job situation but I'm just going to try and keep my chin up and work hard and hopefully with a bit of luck I'll be employed this time next year... if not I'll catch you all in Australia for a bit of travelling!
