The above line summarizes effectively how I felt at Bayer. Whilst the tasks were similar to other the other interns the sheer amount of doors that Saltire opened was simply fantastic. This week for instance we met the CEO of the largest Bayer subgroup (BayerHealthcare). Whilst initially the meeting was scheduled for 15 minutes, but we ended up spending 40 minutes with him. It is these opportunities to connect and learn from top international leaders that makes this internship really special. I've also made some great connections whilst being here that have helped me develop my career path for the future and have helped put me in contact with even more people to help my development.

The last week consisted of onboarding the new intern and showing him the tasks that I carried out. It felt rather strange to be handing over the tasks and to leave the team that i'd developed quite a strong loyalty to! That said i'm sure he will do a fantastic job. The last week also consisted of giving feedback, and most of this was rather positive, in fact I was rather pleased to know that they thought I had grasped the concept of the project really quickly and would have given me even more responsibility had I stayed longer. I also received a valuable point to work on regarding project work which will be invaluable in the future.

Once again, i'd like to thank Bayer for providing me with the opportunity to join them and work with them. It really was a fantastic experience in a foreign country. I've travelled to several different places around Germany and Europe, i've made some fantastic friends and contacts and most of all worked on a fantastic project that tested me.
