How can it be over!!!
My last 2 weeks at Bayer were spent finishing off all my projects. My internet analysis report eventually came to an end. I was pleased to discover I had gathered some useful information with regards to patient’s opinions of Bayer’s products. My boss explained that they do not have enough time to search endless website and forums on product reviews however they can often be the most valuable. Many patients have to fill out questionnaires reviewing the drugs they have used but they are not always honest. On forums where patients talk to one and other, and can relate to each other, they seem to be a lot more open about their experience and opinion of the drug.
My last day at Bayer could possibly be my best day here, not because it was over but because they truly went above and beyond to make sure it was a day I would remember.
My morning started having breakfast at the top of the TV tower; it stands over the entire city and can be seen from miles around, all over Berlin. The restaurant at the top of the tower completes a 360 degree rotation every 30minutes. I would recommend to anyone planning a trip to Berlin in the future to have a meal at this tower. The views were completely breath taking and the food was fantastic...you name it, they had it.
After speaking with all my colleagues and thanking them for this experience I made my way to the Radissons Blue hotel where I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Ian Knights, one of the Global Scots for lunch. He is an extremely busy man and I felt entirely grateful that he was willing to take the time to meet me. He could not have been a more down to earth, friendly guy. He made me feel completely at ease and was happy to answer any questions I had to ask. I was rather nervous of the prospects of meeting one of the Global Scots, but within an hour of being with Dr. Knights we were chatting about rugby, families and my plans for the future. I think it’s fantastic there are individuals, who are willing to spend the time and money investing in Scotland’s future workforce, and who genuinely care about the individuals involved.
Concluding blog still to come....
