Final Farewell!

Nearly eight weeks gone and my time interning in LA is drawing to an end….the experience has been amazing and has opened my eyes to so many opportunities while time has flown by I have had the best times of my life.

I had my final conference call on Monday morning at MediaXchange with the London office and we had a lovely big lunch to celebrate me leaving while talking over my final report of my experience with MX and comparing it to my first week document of my aims goals and project plan. I chose to spend more time in LA so I made plans to have a last lunch meeting with Alison and David the next week while I would be having some relaxing time in LA before leaving.

It had been such a great experience working at MX it was important to me to keep in touch with everyone I had worked with in both MediaXchange and in North Highland.

I joined Christine Lau for some lunch meetings in my last week with some social media clients and finished up my social media projects with both Christine and Ted. Throughout my time at MX Christine was my mentor which really helped with growing my skills and helping me learn as well as apply my knowledge to work. Everyone was so welcoming so it made it even harder to leave and say bye for the final time. Thomas Pak     returned from work travel on my final week so we managed to get a night out in Venice with Christine, Thomas and myself on Tuesday night for a drink and chat about out of office life. Not everyone could attend so I had a final lunch with Thomas Pak     at one of his favourite restaurants in Down Town on my final Friday at Wurstkutche as he wouldn’t be able to attend my end of intern lunch the following week when I was finished at work.

I finished off all the work I had due for that week and I was all set to leave but it was really sad to know that it would be my last day going into work even if it wasn’t my last time I would see everyone!

Friday was the end of an era but I know I have made some great friends as well as acquaintances who I will not forget and know I will be able to go back and visit as well as keep in touch with..

Saturday morning was going to be an adventure in itself…. I was going off to Vegas for Labor weekend with friends from LA who I met while I have been out here and friends from back in Scotland who were joining the road trip too.

It was a weekend that gave me plenty of stories to share on my final lunches during my week off in work in LA and then off to New York for a week of exploring before I head home for my final year of university….

I just want to share a final thank you to the Saltire Foundation who made this possible and for everyone at MediaXchange and North Highland who made my time in Los Angeles an experience I will never forget!
