Hi, my name is Lynn Aitchison and I am going into my honour year at Universities of the West of Scotland this September. Also I am lucky enough to be heading out to Boston in a few weeks time to complete an Internship with Liberty Mutual who deal in personal and commercial insurance. I will be doing some Marketing Research in my eight weeks which I am very much looking forward to getting out there. This is a very exciting time as I have just recieved my J1- work and travel visa back from the US Embassy in London. :DI traveled down to London about a week and a half ago to complete my visa interview which was exciting as I had never previously been to an Embassy, so it was a new experience. Today I have recieved the time and dates of my flights, so I am super excited about that. It feels like its really going to happen now, if that makes sense. But before I had the flight details it seemed farther away? Now it feels like its happening.I have contacted my Saltire mentor Orla who has given me some useful information about what to expect on my first day and the Liberty Mutual dress code. So using my mentor I have put my mind at ease about the protocol for my first few days. It is reassuring to have someone who has experienced what I am about to. Orla told me to get myself at least one suit so I have made plans to go shopping next week for the neccessaries, suitcase, business suit and other items of an office wardrobe.I have been doing some research online about things to do in Boston while I am with Liberty Mutual, I have read reviews which tell me that the Harvard tour is a must see, as well as some of the art galleries which I am very much looking forward to. I also have a friend who was on holiday in Boston a year ago who tells me there is a Cheers bar that I should visit so I will look into that.I am counting down the days, 15 day to go YIPEE!!!!
