Hello All,

I am Martyn Jones, this will be my first blog! I have just finished my third year at Glasgow University studying Business and Management. In 13 days I will be jetting of to St Petersburg Florida to join Jabil Circuit's Financial Transformation Team, myself and two others interviewed for the position (Chris White and Louise Hamil) and we are told that they could couldn't decide between the three of us so they paid the extra to have us all which is really great of them.

I have been in contact with the FTT and the dress code is very casual, shorts and t-shirts due to the heat, which is good; but I definitely spent £150 on shirts whilst killing time after my embassy interview in London which is a bit of a pain. As for the visa interview, that all went fine I was in the embassy for around 40 mins, as I was the second person in the building when it opened in the morning, and it all ran pretty smoothly even after spending the previous night in the pub with some mates! I have received my visa throught the post so I'm all set to go.

One last thing that might be of interest, the Saltire's network has already benefitted me in a strange way, I have a bar job in a club called Arta and it turns out my GM (Fraser Waterson) was one of the first people to be exchanged and I asked him if I could come back after the internship which he kindly said yes, even though I've only been there a few weeks. Bit of background on him, he is now on his second degree studying medicine and he believes that his internship really made him stand out on his medical admissions board so it just shows you that the experience can benefit you even if its not in the same field. He also said that being promoted to management of the club is a direct consequence of his experience he gained on his internship!
