Hi guys,
I'm Christine! I am just finished my fourth year studying Chemical Engineering at Strathclyde University. I've got one more year to go after this fabulous summer that I'm about to embark on! Tonight I am spending one last night with the girls before they go to T in the park tomorrow. I have to say they are more jealous of the adventures (and the weather) which I will be having in Boston. As part of my 'going away' present, they got me a little silver book for all the contacts that I will hopefully be making! My internship is with Genzyme in the Operations Department. I will be carrying out a Manufacturing Engineering assignment during my placement. This is an intriguing prospect as I am unsure what this will entail over the next 8 weeks.
I worked for British Energy last year in their nuclear power plant near Largs which, I have to say, I don't think will be a patch on Boston! This summer will be a whole new experience for me as Genzyme is a well known biotechnology company, which is a completely different industry.
I was on holiday to New York a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved it! I've heard Boston is far more laid back though which will suit me during my free time.
At the moment, I live with my mum and brother so I am looking forward to sharing an appartment with a fellow Genzyme intern. I just hope she can cook!
Worrying I will be over my baggage allowance and I'm sure I will still forget something. I'll be glad when I am checked in and boarding the plane on Saturday. Anyway I hope everyone has a good time and I shall look forward to reading up on what everyone has been doing.
Until next time.... XOXO
