For the last two days mysefl and the other Liberty Mutual Saltire interns have been participating in the 2010 liberty mutual Senior Forum which was... to use the American phrase, AWESOME! We have been so lucky to be here for this much sought after event in a Liberty Intern's calander; and not all of the interns at Liberty were invited, so it was even more of a fantastic opportunity for us. We had a presentation from Ted Kelly the CEO of Liberty who was a really nice down to earth smart fella, which perhaps was a bit surprising to find out, considering his position here. It was a great opportunity to ask questions and hear from his extrnsive pool of experience and knowledge. We also had a presentation from Helen Sayles our Global Scot, which again was nice to see her again and hear more about her role in the company.
The senior forum was not all about business however; we were taken out for a few fabulous meals and treated to a Boston Duck tour which was great. Our conDUCKtor was a bit mad though, in the "Should you be driving this thing?" sense. All great fun and also on the last evening we had a meal at Maggino's little Italy restaurant just accross from the Radisson where we were staying for a brilliant meal and a game of Stump Trivia - which my team won. WOOOO HOOOOO! We each recieved a $50 gift card which was amazing, I really didn't expect the prizes to be that great but they were very generous.
This has been such a great experience. Who ever comes to Liberty next year will be in for a great few days. This is a great business event with many elements of fun which were unexpected and a great surprise. It has also been an excellent chance to network with the other liberty interns from around the USA.
A great week altogether. So to top off a excellent week I think I will head to the beach tomorrow and take full advantage of the brilliant boston sunshine.
