Hello All,

Well its half way through my internship, and it is difficult to articulate how much I have learnt and been exposed to here in Florida.  Last week, I was privy to some very interesting information and meetings at Jabil, which has helped me feel more knowledgeable and confident in contributing to conversations and adding some value to the organization.  My main task, similar to the previous week, was working on foreign exchange variances between different sites.  Although, this week I will gain some insight into why these occurred as I will be speaking to the sites across the globe directly.  I also worked on a project concerned with creating a standard area where all global financial documents can be stored and, ensuring more standardization across the company.

A very interesting and rewarding part of last week was receiving my results and feedback from some psychometric tests I completed a few weeks prior.  In these feedback sessions my Myers Briggs and Predictive Index tests were analyzed, helping me to better understand myself and my strengths and weaknesses.  The objective of these tests is to facilitate better management, personal development, and how you can better interact with others; and I intend on making the most of the results.  I am very grateful for this opportunity, as often you only get the chance to complete these costly assessments further on in your career.

As with most weeks here at Jabil I have attended overview meetings with the heads of various Jabil functions and departments, helping me to understand the organization as a whole and how it interacts.  Last week I met with Mergers and Acquisitions and IT, M&A was particular interesting as Jabil is in a period of aggressive growth and they complete very interesting assessments of smaller companies financial positions.

On the weekend I rented another car and visited my parents who were holidaying in the south of Florida.  We had a pretty chilled out weekend, had a barbeque and did a spot of fishing on the gulf with a family friend, but only caught a few tidlers much to my disappointment!
