Growing in Confidence

Well I am now officially half way through week five.  Its so strange to think that 5 weeks ago i was still in Scotland and now I am in the USA having what i am sure will be one of the best experiences of my life.  I can safely say now that I DO NOT WANT TO COME HOME!

This week I feel like my confidence has grown a great deal with the successful completion of my part in the Puerto Rico project involving competitive intelligence and analysis and the near completion of a full project on a systems FAQ section which I have been involved in from the beginning with my supervisor.  This has been a great project to participate in as I have experienced and been involved in all the behind the scenes efforts of the many different layers of the department.  I feel able to handle unforeseen problems; in the sense that being put on the spot does not intimidate me as much any more.

I have a few more projects to get started at the end of the week, so i am really looking forward to adding to my workload as I feel more at home at Liberty.  I could definitley see myself working in the USA and would most certainly apply to Liberty if I am able to move here.  I think its great how relaxed it feels to work here compared with my working experience in the U.K.  There are also little differences like yesterday Liberty Mutual hosted a build  your own ice cream sundae mixer in the St. James building which was great fun and a good chance to mingle with other employees.

The weather is still nice and warm in Boston so I hope to explore the north end (little Italy and Faneuil hall) this weekend and perhaps go to the beach.
