California Girls

Hey everyone hope your all having a fantastic last week!

I'm continuing to work with my project and getting down to analysing the data. I've also started to use mapping software to illustrate my findings that I've to present to my boss on Thursday along with my recommendations for how the sales territories should be divided amongst the sales staff. Getting to analyse the data has been fascinating and it has given me a chance to use my analytical skills to draw conclusions from the pages of data that I’ve complied over the last eight weeks. As my project covers all fifty states I've had to have maps out in front of me when drawing conclusions about the existing territories and researching possibilities about potential new territories. As I also researched each individual state thoroughly at the beginning of my project I have became quite familiar with all fifty states and their abbreviations. As a test the two business analysts that I sit next to confiscated my map and list of states and tested me on how many states that I knew. I got 33 right which I am very proud of as I only knew a handful of states before coming over here. If it ever comes up when I'm on who wants to be a millionaire I'm sorted.

At the weekend myself and some of the other interns hired a car and Dave very kindly drove us up the coast to various parts of Cape Cod. We had a short stop in Sandwich were we visited a glass museum and watched a demonstration on how glass was blown. We also got to see one of the oldest tumblers in the world (maybe). The sign declared the tumbler as the oldest in the world but when you read the description of the glass it actually mentioned that it was very hard to tell how old the glass was and it may only be one of the oldest in the world. They have a little bit of false advertising going on in Sandwich. We also stopped off at a coffee shop that sold the best coffee in town where I tried strawberry cheesecake coffee which was actually really nice. We carried on with our journey along the cape to Provincetown which is the furthest point and a huge tourist attraction.

In Provincetown we did some sunbathing, climbed the Pilgrim monument, went to the pilgrim museum and soaked up the atmosphere of the lively town. Soon it was time to head back to the car and back to Boston. Throughout the journey there was a lot of radio channel flipping as we couldn’t really agree what to listen to. One of the most popular songs in America just now is California Girls by Katy Perry that came on at least four times and every time it came on myself and Camilla proceeded to sing and dance along to the song. By the end of the journey there was a Katy Perry ban in the car. On Sunday we did some sunbathing on the beach in Boston followed by some shopping to make sure we haven’t forgotten to buy any essentials like new shoes and then dinner down by the harbor.

Can't believe how quickly time has gone! Hope everyone enjoys their last few days!
