Hi everyone,
So I finally managed to get to my first baseball game at the week end out the way! Sadly San Francisco Giants lost (badly) so perhaps wasn’t the best game to break my baseball virginity. Despite the lose it really was a great day out and the Giants stadium has to be the nicest stadium I ever been too. There were some minor differences between a US and UK sports game- the most noticeable was that opposition fans sit next to each with a beer in their hand. Last week was spent looking forward to the game and setting up reports for this week’s quarter close and trying to pro long it being my last week and now I really can’t believe I’ve had my first day of my last week at NSC and no doubt this week will go just as fast as the previous seven.
With the first quarter close this week, my last week looks like it will be just as exciting and a good way to finish off one of the best experiences of my life. Exciting but busy with deadlines to meet as reports have to be finished and handed in. For most of the reports I’ve been given the responsibility of completing, are summaries of how the company’s sales in America in the first quarter and so far the numbers and the feedback as been positive. As well as quarter close, on Thursday my manager has arranged for my mentor and me to have a guided tour of the product lines manufacturing facility. Never thought I would be excited to have a guided tour to learn about how analogues are built and operate however having learnt so much about them during my stay here it seems like a good way to round up my experience.
Tomorrow the soccer team that I joined at the beginning of my internship have somehow managed to get in to the final of the company’s league competition. I’m making it sound more serious that it really is but its good fun and another nice way to finish off- hopefully a win will make it sweeter.
I feel I should try sum up everything I have learnt in my 8 weeks at National Semi Conductor but I’ll save that for my last blog while I’m out here- give me time to sum up an endless list no doubt.
Hope your all well and just as depressed as me about finishing.
Murray.
