Bye Bye Boston

I've now been back in Scotland for just over two weeks and I'm missing Boston already!!

My last week at Liberty was fantastic! It included me presenting my final presentation to my manager about how I think the sales staff should be distributed and seeing all of the work that I've done over the last two months coming together was fantastic. My mamanger was really pleased with my apporach to the project and said they would probably use my plan which is very exciting. My manager also took me out for lunch to say thank you for all my hard work and presented me with some Liberty themed presents. This included a liberty ice coffee cup, a beach bag, two pens, a clock and a golf umbrella because I told them it rains a lot in Scotland. Unfortunately I had to leave the golf umbrella as they wouldnt let me take it on the plane.

Mysef and the other Liberty interns also had a chance to have another great lunch with Helen Sayles our Global Scot. It was lovely to get a chance to thank her for this amazing opportunity and to tell her about how much we have learned this summer. This summer has completely changed my outlook on the working environment and how I view myself amongst my peers. Americans have a very 'can do' approach to life which I think we need more of in Scotland. I hope to try and focus more on having this apporach when entering my final year and the working place next  year.

We also managed to squeeze in some fun into the last week. All the Boston interns went out for dinner one evening, watched the sunset by the river and I also became an honoury boy for the evening while I followed the boys around Boston and took pictures of them playing football at all the famous sights. Far too quickly Saturday came around and it was time to head back to Scotland. After a rather bumpy flight to Dublin where we were greeted by about 15 Scots in kilts and Scotland strips on their way back from the Scotland match we were on our way back to Glasgow.

This sumner has been amazing and I want to say thank you to the Saltire Foundation for this life changing experience!
