Week Two of our adventure in Charlotte, NC working for IBM.

Well thankfully the deadly heatwave has hit North Carolina - catching all the rays I can before returning to a September, rain-filled Glasgow. Thinking I'm too hardcore for suntan lotion, on Saturday I was on the rooftop pool or our hotel and became red like lobster (which thankfully is turning brown).

At the beginning of the week, we had to be moved rooms because the internet to our room had broken - this had been an ongoing problem for 4 days and we were getting pretty fed up of our lack of internet. Now, our room is right opposite where breakfast is served and on the top floor, with fantastic views of Charlotte. The Hotel Manager, Stacy, was very apologetic and sent room service with a card stating "Sorry for the inconvenience, we thought you girls could celebrate tonight"  with Mairi and I thinking, oh great a free meal in the Hotel, free film or bottle of wine - no,no,no she had sent crackers and cheese to our room ! 

This weekend, we ventured to South Park Mall and did a bit of shopping. We visited Yoforia - a self service frozen yoghurt store with about 10 - 13 varieties of frozen yoghurt (I had cookies n creme with oreo cookies on top).

Also, we visited a Biker Bar called McKoy's which had about 25 - 40 Harley Davidson's parked outside - Our Manager, Steve and his wife Julie have been showing us around Charlotte and letting us try the local cuisine (mainly BBQ and fried food).
