Yet another week has flown by, they seem to get faster and faster! This week I have still been working on the Magazine hoping to wrap it up by the end of next week. In order to complete the front cover, images of an aircraft were required. In order to complete this my boss gave me his camera to take pictures of aircraft in the hanger. After taking numerous photos (which I believed to be of great quality) and sweating in the 40-degree climate, my boss told me that I had taken photos of the wrong aircraft. After he stopped laughing he told me how to spot the correct aircraft and I went for round two the next morning. Mid week I eventually finished the front cover of the magazine, receiving a warm response from my manager. During the week I also sat in a conference call which was regarding the start-up failure of a customers engine. The objective of the call was to make the customer aware of this problem and find out what the best solution for the customer would be. Again I witnessed good customer relations as the customer relied on the advice being given to them by the company and understood that we had their best interests at heart. In an alternative situation, anger and frustration could arise from the customer as the process hadn’t gone the way they had desired. On Wednesday night I attended the Texas Rangers baseball game. As this was my first time at a baseball game I found it to be a great experience. Again a good atmosphere was created by the 35,000 strong crowd! At the weekend my fellow interns and I met up with the interns in Houston and traveled to San Antonio (5 hours away from Fort Worth). On the Friday we went to the boardwalk which had numerous bars and restaurants. After stumbling across a British pub that we wanted to check out, I was refused admission for having on a plain white T-Shirt. This baffled me as I had never come across this before, however the doorman made me aware that this was the attire for a local gang. As I didn’t want to let my fellow interns down, I made the decision to purchase a T-shirt from the gift shop of Joe’s Crap Shack with the slogan “Eat At Joe’s”. The T-shirt was a success and I even gained praise from the Toilet Attendant! On Saturday we went to Six Flags theme and Water Park which turned out to be an amazing day and in the evening we went to a local night club. On the Sunday we rounded off the trip with some sight seeing and passed by a shopping outlet on the way home. Another all rounded good week, looking forward to the next!
Patrick, you'll have to send through the magazine when it is complete!
