The London Loner

Hallo

Okay, so the end of week 10 leaves me on my lonesome, as both Sarah and Jenny have gone home for the weekend for a wedding/21st, and I have to say, it feels very strange doing all the daily things without them. Although, I'm excited for a chillaxing weekend before our jam-packed final fortnight!!

This working week has flown by! After our meeting with MD, Sarah Lyons, we've been kept pretty busy! It's beginning to get to the stage where everything is coming together and we are preparing to hand over our work to someone new. Even so, the learning curve continues. There have been many points over the past week where we've had to update our basic data and refresh our analyses - which can be very tedious - and I think that's where we are learning the most!

Our final presentation and feedback session has been scheduled for our last day (which is in 2 weeks, btw - OMG!), where at least 6 of the firm's executives/directors will be attending. I am, quite frankly, peeing my pants. To make things a little bit more scary, we won't be meeting with our project supervisor until a few days before as he is on holiday, so it's all on us at the moment. No pressure guys! In all honesty, our progress has been very highly commended by the executives so far, so there shouldn't be any problems during this session. Nevertheless, the nervous thoughts are obviously still at the front of my mind. Let's hope we get taken out for lunch before to calm my nerves!

Also in our last week of our internship, we have an event organised with Katie and many other Saltire alumni who are based in London. I'm really quite excited to meet them and share many a Saltire story - it should be a great night! It's really cool to be part of such a huge family. Who would have thought there would be so many Saltire enthusiasts in London!

In other news, I have found that I have a secret talent... screaming. We visited the London Dungeons last night and I have to say, I've never been so terrified in my entire life! Edinburgh Dungeons is like a tour of the Playdays set in comparison. We were in there for almost 2 hours, going through all the shows and rides, our faces becoming whiter by the minute. Recently, there have been a few additions to the tour, so if you've been before, you have to go again! The new stuff was by far the scariest!

So, what's in store socially for the 'London Lassies' over the next week? The Lion King musical, dressing up as a cockroach and even a Rollerdisco. That's right, a ROLLERDISCO! Excitement :D

Hope you enjoy your weekend, reader :)
