What is the application process?

We are currently recruiting for the first cohort of the Fellowship Programme.

Admissions criteria

We are looking to target individuals that have the potential to make a significant contribution to Scotland's future. Entry onto the programme will be highly competitive and candidates will be selected via a rigorous, robust and competency-based screening process, ensuring that only the highest calibre candidates enter onto the programme. The intake for the first cohort will be approximately 15 candidates.

Candidates should be able to display the following characteristics:

• Proven track record of achievement
• Awareness of the challenges involved in building a successful company
• Strategic thinking
• Positive attitude to risk
• Ambition
• Ability to make a year long commitment to the programme and
• A desire to work in Scotland

Application and selection process (including timeline):

If you are interested in applying for the Fellowship Programme then please follow the instructions below.

1. Complete all sections of the online application form. Note: you will need to register to complete the online application form. The form is designed to be completed over several sessions and by using your login name and password you will be able to save and return to your form at any time.
2. Submit the completed online application form by clicking the "Submit Now" button.
3. You will receive email confirmation of receipt of your form.
4. Applications will be accepted throughout the year.  Please note applications for the 2009 programme must be submitted by 31 July 2008.
5. All applications will be considered by the selection panel and a shortlist of candidates selected to progress to the next stage of assessment. All candidates will be informed within a two week period.
6. Successful candidates will be invited to attend an assessment centre. The assessment centre will consist of a group event on the evening of the 06-June-2008, followed by a series of interviews during the day of 07-June-08.  An assessment centre will also be held during August 2008.
7. All applicants are asked to provide the details of two referees. However, only those who are selected for the assessment centre will be subject to reference checks.
8. The selection panel will identify and contact the successful candidates by 30-June-08 (June assessment centre candidates) .
9. Successful candidates will be asked to confirm their acceptance within a two week period.

Note: No fee is required to accompany the application form.
