Why does Scotland need an international undergraduate internship programme?
We recognise that Scotland’s undergraduates are vital to the country’s future. As more and more young people from both at home and overseas enter higher education, it is vital that Scotland's students are equipped with a positive, can-do attitude and an enterprising outlook to ensure they play a full part in the 21st century work place.
We run an experience-based programme targeted at our country’s most promising students.
What does it offer?
Our undergraduate internship programme offers students from Scottish universities the chance to experience life in some of the world’s top companies. By broadening horizons and opening doors, we encourage candidates to develop their confidence, skills and capacity to succeed.
During summer 2009, forty students will undertake placements in top global organisations in the United States, Asia, Dubai and Europe.
What do we want to achieve with this programme?
In essence, we want to create a programme which celebrates and develops in candidates:
- Confidence
- Competence
- Capacity to Succeed
- Core-skills
We will do this through a project which is:
- Competitive
- Challenging
- Compelling
