What kind of candidates are we looking for?

The undergraduate internship programme is currently open to third year university students. Candidates are required to meet and network with senior individuals from the international business community and to connect their practical experience with their theoretical learning.

We employ a rigorous interview and screening process to ensure the programme is competitive and prestigious. It is important we find the right people to act as ambassadors for our country and who can take out the message that Scotland is a country brimming with talent, with ideas and with ambitious young people ready to succeed.

Professional behaviour, an absolute desire to achieve, a truly "can-do" attitude and demonstrable initiative is expected of candidates at all times - both inside and outside the workplace.

Importantly, we are keen to ensure the application process isn't purely based on academic achievement. What's more important is that candidates have the motivation, enthusiasm and capability to succeed.

This summer, 24 top-class placements are available to students at participating universities. Host companies are all top international companies, including Genzyme, Liberty Mutual, Wood Group and Rolls Royce (all in North America), Fujitsu (Tokyo), Grand Hyatt Singapore (Singapore) and many more.
